Could you be someone's second choice? - The Fallback by Eleanor Goymer Review
Being someone who has made this kind of deal with a friend (or seven), the premise of this book made me smile and instantly want to request it.
If you are looking for something that gives you instant gratification, this is not for you. It is very slow burn through the beginning 50/60% of the book. I'm no stranger to slow burn. There is a fanfic I've been reading since 2014 that's still ongoing at 76 chapters in and STILL no ending in sight - pray for me and it's completion.
It does speed up pace wise in the middle and we blitz through the final quarter of the book.
The characters were interesting but I couldn’t quite connect as much as I would have loved to the main character. I did however, love Nadia, Jasmine and my namesake Rachel (we stan you Rachel - and I bet she is a fire sign)
I adored the setting of this book. As a London girlie myself it made me smile a lot as I could picture a lot of the places being mentioned.
If you're interested in this book I definitely suggest giving it a go!
A special thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK and One More Chapter for providing me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
